Fat Kids

Who would have thought? Of all things to blame, from TV and computer games to the education system and nasty fast-food compaines, the blame could be placed mainly on the parents:

Parents packing the school lunch box - not fast-food outlets or tuckshops - are most to blame for allowing their children to get fat.

Peter Clifton, who co-wrote the worldwide best-selling CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, laid responsibility yesterday for the nation's childhood obesity epidemic on parents and what they fed their kids.

He singled out the school lunch box and the sugar-laden drinks and high-fat snacks that children were eating at home.

Dr Clifton highlighted studies in Australia and overseas that indicated consumption of these products at home and school was more likely to contribute to childhood obesity than eating at restaurants, tuckshops and fast-food outlets such as McDonald's.

Amazing news. Well, remember people: fat kids are harder to kidnap. Might also explain why so many soccer-mums drive 4WDs in residential areas.

Well, it is true. I see kids with a Gatorade and think what the hell are their parents letting them drink that for. Y

ou can also see some issues families have with that new TV show (can't remember the name), where they show the parents what the kids will look like when they grow up unless they change their eating/ physical activity habits. Although the whole 'what they will look like thing when they grow up' is pretty bullshit, the idea behind the show, changing habits from eating junk and sitting in front of the TV 24/7, is a good idea. Pity they can't do a reality show for every family, but that wouldn't be good ratings, as no one would be in front of the TV anymore... I have only just realised this conflict of interests the TV stations have by showing these programs... holy crap!!

Anyway, more fat people = more jobs for me when I graduate. Eat up fuckers

Little fat bastards. I always got sandwiches and fruit in my lunch boxes. My parents were too tight to give me money for the tuckshop (or canteen). Worked out well, I suppose.
