A slightly lost Queenslander who until recently resided in a sprawling metropolis of trams and cafés. My nom de plume relates to a drunken story and not the communist. I read too much non-fiction and not enough fiction, though the lines seem to be blurred of late. ***************************** Un ligeramente perdido Australiano que hasta recientamente vivía en un metrópoli de trenvias y cafeterías. What's the point of voting? We all know King-Emperor Beattie is in for another glorious ten years.

Oh, no arguments there. If the Coalition wasn't so criminally incompetent at campaigning Beattie might actually feel like he had to put a bit of an effort into governing.
But with a booming state economy, flush with generous GST funding (subsidised by NSW and Victoria), running Queensland these days requires no more than two brain cells.

I had no idea what address I was enrolled at for this vote thingy, so I called up the AEC this morning, and they say I'm not on the roll anymore, as people at one of my old address said I don't live there anymore! No voting for me, suckers!!!
